A Note of Gratitude to My Readers

Sheila Carroll

Over the past months, many of you have left comments on Open Doors that I have carried with me long after reading them. Since the blog system doesn't allow me to reply to each individually I am offering a note of thanks and some reflections on your comments.

Again and again, I hear mothers longing for something deeper than productivity, rushing, or merely “getting through” a school year. I hear women trying to recover attention, peace, wonder, courage, and love within the life of the home.

Your words remind me that writing is not a one-way act. It becomes a kind of companionship.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your struggles, your hopes for your children, and the small moments of renewal that matter so much.

Several of your comments especially moved me: the mother who noticed deep focus in her son and wanted to begin again; the reader who said she would keep a printed page nearby for difficult days; the mothers who long to recover what is essential beneath the pressure and noise of modern life.

Thank you for reading, for reflecting, and for walking beside me in this work.

With gratitude,
Sheila
